Of course some brides will choose their colours based on the theme of their wedding, for example a beach, a garden , a vintage romance, or a traditional love…Some will choose colours to fit in with the time of year, such as soft pastel colors for summer, deep, rich, jewel colors for winter, bright contemporary colors for spring or muted tones for autumn or fall…

Traditional carrot cake
Ingredients
250 g self-raising flour
2 teaspoons mixed spice
400 g caster sugar
350 ml vegetable oil
4 eggs
350 g grated carrots
120 g chopped walnuts (optional)
Grated zest of 3 oranges
Cream cheese filling
225 g cream cheese
2 tbsp orange juice
Grated zest of 1 orange
110 g butter
500 g icing sugar
1 teaspoon orange extract

Method
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C. Grease two 25 cm round cake tins. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, mixed spice and sugar. Add the oil and beaten eggs, mix until blended, then stir in the carrots and orange zest (finally the nuts if chosen). Divide the cake mixture evenly between the two prepared tins. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven. It is ready when a skewer inserted into the cake comes out clean. Cool cakes on wire racks before removing from tins. To make the icing cream together the butter and cream cheese in a medium bowl, then add the sugar and mix well. Stir in orange zest and orange extract, then fill the cooled cakes.
